Unlike mechanical abrasion techniques that can induce physical stress or leave microscopic debris embedded in the substrate, the electropolishing process (anodic dissolution) is entirely non-contact. It functions essentially as a reverse electroplating technique. 

The stainless steel component is submerged within a specifically formulated, temperature-controlled electrolytic bath and subjected to a precise direct electrical current. This controlled electrochemical reaction offers several distinct advantages:

Note: from a strict manufacturing perspective, the final visual brilliance and the exact Ra value achieved are heavily dependent on the initial metallurgical state of the alloy and the prior mechanical machining it has undergone.
